So in Vaasa you can find a company called VP- Tekoniemi Oy, Meijerikatu 5 where
it has been running since 1992. The glass shop is in the center of Vaasa and it's been there from the 60's up to now so the local people likes to go there anytime they have problem with glass.

The next one Berga's glass factory in Närpiö Pirttikylä. It was manufactured by Olof Sjöberg older and the workers were from Germany and France. Production based on farmacy glass with 80 per cent and the other products were for example window glasses, bottles, carafes and so on.
The factory acted in 1796-1883 and it was one of the biggest glass factories in by its productions in Finland.

Nowadays it works as a museum where you can find a glass collection.

Unfortunately these days there is not so many glass factories than it was before. For instance in Merikarvia, Rauma and Pori.
But we do have a big legendary glass brand Iittala (I believe you've heard about that) and the place Iittala is about half an hour way from Hämeenlinna.
I surely know you are going to enjoy yourself among Finnish traditional glass, high quality design glass and opportunities for shopping and having a cup of coffee.
In Iittala's glass factory you even have a chance to watch how the glass is made. You have to book a time so you can have a guide but I'm sure your friend can do that. Here is the number 0204 39 6230.

Then the most known place for glass is Riihimäki which is located in southern Finland. It was started in 1910 and it was produced everyday glassware until 1976 and cutting lass till 1977. It was closed in 1990.
The glass museum's addres is Tehtaankatu 23, 11910 Riihimäki.
Open hours are from 10 am to 6 pm.
