We have two Alvar Aalto's museum here in Finland. One in Helsinki and one in Jyväskylä.
If you are going to Tampere, you can visit the housing area where is about 14 houses designed by Aalto in 1940's. The bus drives there in 10-15 minutes and you have to drop of a stop called Jokipohjantie 18. The houses were built for men who survived from World War Second.

The second day you could go to Helsinki by train. You could visit there in Studio Aalto and House Aalto which are both located in district of Munkkiniemi. From the center of Helsinki you can take the tram line 4 and it takes about 20 minutes to get there. Guide tours are arranged for visitors. You said you got interested in Aalto when you saw Artek work in Italy. Artek shop is located in Helsinki. The addres is Eteläesplanadi 18 and it is open from 10 am to 7 pm from monday to friday.

There you can find all kinds of design products.
There is also restaraunt Savoy near the Artek shop. The addres is Eteläesplanadi 14. I recommend to visit and eat there!
The fourth day you may visit Aalto university in Espoo.
The fifth day travel to Jyväskylä by train.
Alvar Aalto moved to Jyväskylä when he was 5 years old. He graduated from high school and opened his first studio in 1923. The museum in Jyväskylä was also designed by himself.

The sixth day you could visit people's house in Jyväskylä and start moving to Kuortane.
There is found Aalto's birthplace.
In Jyväskylä there is also Aalto's designed people's house (1925)
The museum mostly focuses on Aalto's buildings and displays a lot of models and drafts. There can be found also lots of Aalto's designed chairs, lamps and Savoys vases in different sizes.

The birthhouse of Alvar Aalto
Kuortane is near Seinäjoki and there is located place named Aalto Center. It is a cultural center of the city of Seinäjoki. It has six buildings designed by Alvar Aalto between 1960-1968. The center represents one of the most important works.
